Yanks Win in 14
Ellsbury won another one for the Yanks with a big fly in top of the 14th. Thus, the Yanks ended up winning Brandon McCarthy's first start, but you saw his bad luck right away in the first, when he ended up giving up 3 unearned runs after a rare throwing error by Mark Teixeira. Tex would redeem himself with two homers before the Yanks and Indians locked up at 4 and went into extra innings. The BP had to get a bunch of outs, even though McCarthy was a good soldier and pitched unto the 7th. Could see more roster moves tomorrow.
On the farm, Miguel Sulburan, the short lefty we got in the Nunez deal is our second best pitcher at High A lately. Tonight, he pitch 7 innings of 2 hit, no run, no walk, 8K ball. That was downright Severino-ish. Let's hope they don't underrate him because he's short and either throw him in a trade or make him a reliever. The Nunez deal is looking like one of Cash's better deals.

Given his underwhelming record, Cashman should be able to make an occasional good move merely by regressing to the mean.
