Rangers: Skjei Heading Back For His Junior Year

One of the bigger questions of the prospect camp seemed to be answered yesterday when a bunch of Minnesota media outlets reported that Ranger D prospect Brady Skjei would return to the University of Minnesota for his junior year.  In the long run, this is no big deal, but in the short term it does leave the Rangers organizational depth that much shorter going into next year.  But, even though Gordie Clark felt Skjei was ready, Skje didn't, and another year of development isn't going to hurt him.   McD stayed at Wisconsin through his junior year, for example.  So we'll be having this conversation again next summer, unless Brady pulls a Kreider and goes from junior year right into the NHL post season next year.   Best of luck to Brady.

He was not NHL ready, Gordie knows he needs the depth. Good choice.
