NBA Free Agency Opens
Carmelo Anthony is now free to talk to other clubs and his current dance card includes Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and The Lakers. The Suns were making some noise on Monday about getting both Melo and LeBron, but I have no idea where that is.
Now we will start to see if there are any more parts to Phil Jackson's first year plan than the obvious wait for Melo stuff, and what he'll be able to attract with the Knicks limited resources. I'd still let Melo go, but the Knicks and others still seem to think he'll be back.

I read that LeBron wants a max deal. Not that I blame him, but the last time he was a FA, the Knicks commissioned a study that reported that he could make a billion dollars if he became a Knick. Maybe that is based on unrealistic assumptions, and I admit that I am not objective, but if he somehow found his way on to the Knick roster before he was in decline, I think max money might be rounding error in terms of what he could make. The Knicks have never had a player like that. He could own New York.
There is no big three in Miami, it is just one now.
