This Week on the Blog

One of the biggest weeks of the year on the blog!   The NFL draft!   Woo hoo!  Though all of our teams face big weeks.

Giants:  The Giants will make all 7 of their picks between Thursday Night and Saturday.   I'm hoping they they attack OL right from the start, but if they go with a playmaker in the first, say LSU's Odell Beckham Jr,  who's been climbing since I talked about him last month, then they have to take Joel Bitonio with their second pick, because they will have missed on Zack Martin, the most Giant-like player in the draft.  Bitonio is second, and they'd have to pray he's there and take Chris Watt on day 3 for another Giant type OL.   Should be interesting.  I think it will be Martin or an offensive playmaker for the new OC.

Rangers:  The Rangers will see if they can ever win a game 2 tomorrow and then overcome their really rough schedule that makes them the first team to play 7 games in 5 nights in 25 years!   Let's hope they can!

Knicks:  They may name a new coach.   Or Steve Kerr could tell them he's taking the Golden State job, in which case they'll have to keep searching.     Kerr seems like Phil's first choice, though, so in the interests of organizational will and efficacy, I hope they get him,

Yanks:  They'll try to get some pitcher other than Tanaka to start giving them useful starts.  Probably more moves coming on the roster, but hopefully they've learned their lesson about playing Soriano and Beltran in the same OF.   Brutal stuff.

Okay, should be a huge week and let's talk about it here.

I understand that CC and Jeter should get a longer leash than most players, but it shouldn't be so long that it costs this team the ability to reach their potential.

They can start by pulling CC at the first sign of trouble, and platooning Jeter.

Aceves should start ahead of Nuno.

If Kerr really wants the job, wouldn't he have signed a contract by now?

Not that M. Jackson has been fired, we will finally see if Kerr really wants to work for P. Jackson.
