Giants Draft: Just Three More Days
Just three more days and we'll know who the Giants will take with their first top 15 pick since 2004. While I really hope they will choose to build a stronger OL with this draft, and that Zack Martin is the best starting place for such, I think they could feel they have a chances to get an elite playmaker, in which case, they might go that route. So, as of now, I think it will be Martin or Odell Beckham Jr.. I don't think they will use the first pick on D. And if they do go with Beckham, they really, really have to get Joel Bitonio with their second rounder. It would be assbackward, since if they went Martin in 1, they'd have their pick of Giant Type Power Receivers in the second round. Doing it this way, makes them pray Bitonio is there in 2. We'll see what happens. I do think Beckham is right behind Watkins as best WR in the class, and he's a great return man.
He doesn't have major length or ups like Allen Robinson for the jump balls, but he does has pure speed and sick hips, his three cone was 6.69 and his short shuttle was 3.94. So he can break ankles with the ball in his hands both after the catch and on returns. And he's got huge 10 inch hands for the secure catches. At the beginning of the process, I thought he might be in that second round group, but the more I studied the receivers, I didn't really see anything Watkins can do that Beckham can't also do. He's a power guy for his size, so it's possible they can play him on the outside. He's faster than Nicks with even better stop and go, though Nicks was slightly bigger and had longer arms. Both are pure football players.

I'm definitely on the Martin train. If they don't protect Eli better they might as well not even play this season.
As we get closer to the draft, the more I think its going to be a guy like Beckham or Marquise Lee simply because the Giants don't get to draft this high very often. I understand the mentality but I'm a big believer in fixing the lines first.
If they don't fix the lines, particularly the O-Line, they could draft this high a lot more often.
It will be Beckham if it's an offensive play maker. And Martin if they take an OL.
I haven't heard about any defensive player.
If they pass on Martin for Beckham, they have to pray for Bitonio in the second, otherwise, we will be picked high again next year.
I don't expect Bitonio to get out of the first round. It's no secret how good he is any longer.
Then if they don't take Martin they are screwed.
