McDonagh Scores

Ryan McDonagh was one of the goal scorers for the USA today.   His acquisition, while he was still a collegian, in the Gomez trade, will continue to go down as one of the the best deals Sather has made in his years of control.   If he's going to trade Ryan Callahan, he must, must, must, get a young future piece of core in the take back.   Since joining the Rangers, McD has become the very model of what the Rangers want on D, great skaters with speed and strength.   They drafted Brady Skjei because he reminded them of McD and they got John Moore in the Gaborik trade because he has some of the same qualities McD does.  If there are more guys like McD in this year's draft, they could take another.

Meanwhile, Hagelin got banged up in Switzerland's win.  Says he's going to keep playing, but that's the downside of the in season Olympics - you can get your guys hurt.  Hank was good again and we need him to stay hot when he gets back.

There was no news on the Cally or Girardi fronts this past week, and with nothing happening it's hard to predict something will this week.
