Melo Goes Off!

Carmelo Anthony set a Knicks and Garden record tonight with 62 points, before leaving the game with over 7 minutes left in the 4th.   He also had 13 boards.  This was part of a blowout win over the Bobcats.   This accomplished a lot of things.  First it helped the Knicks in their battle for the playoffs.  Second it too the Garden record away from Kobe Bryant and gave it back to a Knick.  And thirdly, it gave the Knick/Garden record to a Knick on a winning team.  When Bernard King scored 60 on Christmas 1984, the Knicks lost the game to the Nets.  I remember because I was there.   Now it least it was set in a win.   What a performance.   Jeremy Tyler looked good, too.
