Yanks Considering Stephen Drew?

Lots of rumors around that the Yanks are considering a run at Stephen Drew.   He was on the Red Sox last year and has garnered little interest through the first few months of this offseason.  Apparently, he was insisting on only playing SS earlier.   Now he's said he'd play more positions, thus a 2 year deal where he could play 3rd this year and SS next might make some sense to the Yanks.   Like Brett Gardner his defense has been more consistent than his O over this career.  Can't hit lefties and that's surpressed his numbers.  Walks 60 times per 162,  which isn't nearly enough to compensate for the low BA he puts up against lefties.  He's another guy who might really benefit from the home park.

I'd still rather try to trade for someone, but Drew is not a terrible bandage as we transition from the legends to a younger team.   We'll see what happens.  Had a good year last year, but the Sox don't seem to want him back.   Could run well at one point.
