What's Wrong With the Rangers?
After looking good against the Kings on Monday, the Rangers when to San Jose and Anaheim and got blown out. Worst of all, Rick Nash appears to have received a concussion against the Sharks and was sent back to New York well in advance of the rest of the team. Even though that's bad news and could even be terrible news, a few games at the start of a season when they are on a ridiculous road trip and changing systems probably don't offer enough trends to get truly concerned about. Hank has not looked all world, but Goalies go through stuff like that. Boyle and Pyatt are playing too much, but hopefully AV will learn (and Kreider and Miller will force their way back). They're turning the puck over in the neutral zone, but that's correctable. And our impressive top 6 on D has to start playing more like an impressive top 6 on defense. I believed this would be a "process" and still do. I don't think we have another Trottier situation on our hands. I think they will either come together gradually or suddenly, but I don't believe they will be a bad team all year. Of course, I didm;t believe the Giants would be, either.
