Looks like Girardi May be on the Way to Chicago
So, it looks like Joe Girardi has told the Yanks that he can't make a decision without hearing what the Cubs have to say. I think that's fine, and would actually like to see a different manager with the Yanks while they go through their little transition over the next few years. There's really no need to pay a world series winning manager's wage as the Yanks rebuild. And I'd rather get a guy in who's great with kids. I haven't seen that with Girardi. In fact, if the Yanks lose Giradi in the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if they take a run at Trey Hillman, who is currently Don Mattingly's bench coach with the Dodgers, but spent a number of years coaching in the Yankee minor leagues. Brian Butterfield is another similar case. I'd like to see them go with someone who's worked with lots of young player, because if they're smart, that's what they'll go for.

I sincerely hope drastic changes to scouting and player development will take place this offseason in regard to amateur talent. The Yankees' inability to develop players is inexcusable.
