A very good point, which the Yankees could use to their advantage in negotiations. The problem is, the next time the Yankees negotiate wisely will be the first time.
I think we'll add Yu Darvish, and might need a few new bench pieces. Something that wouldn't shock me is if we replaced Swisher in right, but I have no idea whom that would be. Maybe we can get Choo for cheap.

Teix, A-Rod and Swisher are completely useless. At least A-Rod has an excuse.
Randy Levine should never be allowed to make a baseball decision again.
I thought Levine was gonna be canned after the ne stadium was opened...so much for that
Whatever the case, I pray the Steinbrenners have seen the light, and will just let the team sink or swim on Cashman's decisions from now on.
CC would be nuts to opt out.
So lets look forward to the offseason as AJ will lay an egg tonight as usual.
CC will get a blank check
No Wilson.
Check in on Darvish.
Phil, the Yankees will have no choice but to overpay for CC if/when he does opt out.
Have to think they go all out on Darvish (bid-wise) if they think his numbers and stuff will translate to MLB.
Who's going to pay CC more than what he already makes?

Jeter got way less than he wanted and he's a Yankee institution with 4 more rings than CC.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that, but CC has yet had an elite whole season for them.
Phil regardless of the outcome tonight would you expect more significant changes to the club this off-season then last?
Mike I agree with you Cash does a good job on his own, no need for other influence

Wouldn't mind Choo if the Yankees feel this year was an outlier. I'd actually be OK if they re-signed Jones and Chavez.
I'd be okay with keeping the bench, Chavez especially.
Why do the Yankees, year after year, have such horrible approaches at the plate come October, when their bread and butter is working the count?
