Yanks Clinch

With a three run 8th, the Yanks today clinched at least the American League wildcard. Down 2-1, Nunez homered to lead of the 8th, and Cano later wrapped to a 2 run double to secure the Yanks' 3rd postseason appearance in a row. I think it's now 16 of the last 17 postseason births in a row for the Yanks. Hector Noesi started and looked pretty good, though he gave up a homer that had the Yanks down 2-1 heading into the ninth. The homer for Nunez was absolutely huge, and could send him on a well timed tear. We're gonna have to get some good starts if we want #28, but at least we're back in the tournament. The magic number for the East is 2 and for homefield throughout the playoffs it's 4. Go Yanks!

Won the East. Congrats to the Yankees; despite some difficulties against the Red Sox for most of the season, they found a way to do it.
