Trouble in Tampa?
Steven Stamkos is an RFA. He and Tampa are about as far apart as two parties can get on a new deal. Tampa would like to bring back Brad Richards to play with his BFF Vinny LeCavalier. The Rangers have room to sign Vinnie. Ranger fans would rather they take a run at Stamkos. This is interesting. Stamkos could actually be in play! The Rangers have to see what they can do here, because he is 21 and could be the face of the franchise for years to come. What's more, whatever pieces they have left would look great arrayed around a young superstar. Go Rangers!

If memory serves Sather had a deal in place for Stamkos once prior?
Not to my knowledge.
I though I remember reading that from Brooks last year.. Any how it would be the preferred option if available.. Can't wait till Friday!
I think he was talking about a Paul Stastny trade back then.
