Laying Down the Law

The Yanks just got done crushing the Orioles 13-2 after last nights late inning drama. CC, like Colon on Wednesday, pitched 8 scoreless innings. He's coming around, but his biggest pitch came in the 1st inning. On the way to giving up 5 Yankee runs in the first, the Orioles hit Robbie Cano with a pitch. Coupling that with the Dickerson beaning last night, CC did what he had to do. And with 2 out in the first inning, CC nailed Markakis with a 94mph fastball right in the small of his back. Message delivered. Tex and Nunez (in for ARod late) homered. Jeter, Swisher and Gardy all tripled. There were lots of doubles, too. Amauri Sanit struggled in his MLB debut giving up all the Oriole runs in the bottom of the 9th. Yanks 13, O's 2. Mets up next. Go Yanks!

Anyone think Yanks will go after Beltran at trade deadline if Posada continues his downhill spiral?

No reason to. Gardner's picking up steam, Granderson's been very good and Swisher's been a victim of some pretty rotten luck.

If they need a hitter, there's a perfectly good one down in AAA right now who's tearing the cover off the ball.

Runners in scoring position. Just saying.
