The Plot Thickens

Dan Graziano, one of the long time Yankee beat guys is reporting that Cash is actually meeting with AJ Burnett or Derek Lowe, but definitely not Sheets or Sabathia. I'd think Burnett would make the most sense, so that's where my bet is right now. In any of the various scenarios, if the Yanks could get just 1 of their three rotation spots filled, it would immediately put pressure on all of the remaining pitchers that they have offers out, too. If the Yanks start moving, some offers could disappear and literally destroy the market for a pitcher or four, (are you hearing me, CC?). Let's see what happens. I'm starting to see the career path similarities between AJ Burnett and a younger, less obese, less pig headed, less teary eyed in the dugout, Curt Schilling. If Burnett can spend his `30's mostly healthy and kicking ass like Schilling did, we could be making a good investement afterall. Go Cash!

UPDATE: The concensus now seems to be that Cash has more than one meeting tonight. One is definitely supposed to be AJ Burnett, but the other(s) are either Sheets, Lowe or Mark Teixeira or some combination thereof. I'm sure it will all come out in a few hours. Cool stuff.
