Safe at Home!

Klap and Caldera are reporting that the Yankees have pulled their offer for Johan Santana. Now, if Hank is serious, Phil Hughes will not be available for any other trade. Good. Go Yanks!

Good. The kids are going to have to step up, if not I can see a lot of angry fans and folks in upper mgmt.

This will be a lot more fun.

I agree. Cost controlled assets for years to come. We have flexibility to make any moves we want especially when the likes of Abreu,Pavano,Giambi, and others come off the books.

The Tigers got stronger tonight, good move by them.

I think we'll trade Igawa and Farnsworth, and maybe Damon. We'll see.

Jenks for Damon is a deal I'd like to see happen.

I'd rather trade Matsui for a first baseman (Loney) than Damon.

Matsui has an NTC.

The 10:09 post by Bobcat seems to be legit over on the Abraham's blog. Says no one is in or out. The others are fake you can tell... who knows...

"It’s been tough trying to follow any of this the past week. One minute it’s a for sure thing, the next it’s not. I want to stay in NY and its good to know I have the backing of the fan base."

We want you to stay too, Phil. :)

Kalel9, he would likely waive it if we traded him to the Dodgers to play with Torre.

dan, you could also say the opposite, if santana falls apart then this trade falling apart could be the best thing that happened for the yanks.

NY Daily News has released the details of the package Cashman turned down.

Hughes
Cabrera
Marquez
Hilligoss

If it was Kennedy in the place of Hughes then its a no brainer.

"It wasn't money, it wasn't Ian Kennedy, nor was it the haggling over a third prospect that kept the Yankees from acquiring Johan Santana. When GM general manager Brian Cashman called the Twins at 2 p.m. on Tuesday to withdraw from the Santana sweepstakes, it was because losing Phil Hughes had become too great of a trauma for the Yankees to absorb."
