Could it Be...?
There are signs and rumors that the Yanks are closing in on a deal that would send Ian Kennedy, Melky Cabrera and Jose Tabata to the Twins for Johan Santana. In order to get Santana, he would have to drop his NTC, and there were strong indications today that he wants to be a Yankee. We'll see what happens. If he wants to be a Yankee and will foil other bids, the Yanks are paying a steep price in giving up both Kennedy and Tabata, who are great prospects. What's more, they'd then have to find a centerfielder to take over for Melky until Austin Jackson is ready. Stay tuned. Go Yanks!

Losing Tabata is tough, but I think this is a deal we have to make. Rowand or Cameron as stop gap CF??
I wonder what else Cash has in store...
It will be interesting to see. I want no part of Rowand, but he is apparently waiting on the Yanks to trade Melky.
I agree with Heyman who said on Mike and the Dog he is not worth the 50 million he wants. Pass as far as I am concerned. He had 2 good years. We need someone more stop gap then that.
I mean seriously if we trade Kennedy/Tabata/Melky for Santana....Cashman is a god and no Yankee Fan should be upset
It would be a fair or more than fair trade given what we then would have to pay Santana.
The longer this takes the less likely I want this deal to be done.
I want to keep Hughes..
PLEASE CASHMAN!
The longer it takes the more likely the patient Mr. Cashman will get it on exactly his terms.
Phil you are right on the money. The Twins wont get nearly the value they would hope for due to the NTC and the other pitchers on the market. They will want something as opposed to nothing, which is where Cash will get the exact deal he wants.
Kennedy, Melky, Tabata and Horne?
I could live with that although I hate to part with Tabata.
Why would Tabata be a part of the deal when Delmon Young is on he's way to the Twins right now?
This was posted yesterday before the Delmon Young trade was made. That said, Cuddyer is moving to 3rd so they have eventual needs at 3OF spots and if you can get Tabata in a trade, it's a good idea. I hope they don't.
I'm an idiot, sorry
If Kennedy, Melky, Jackson and maybe Horne doesn't get this done. Then the Yankees should walk away.
What would nice if Santana would come out sometime today and say he wants to go to the Yankees (and only the Yankees)
I don't know how fast this is gonna happen. Cash can be really patient in search of a deal.
