Matsui on the Block?
The Yanks are apparently talking to the Giants about a deal for Hideki Matsui. Godzilla's been a productive Yank, but if they can get value for him, they should do it at this point. The problem is: the Giants are pretty talent barren outside of Cain and Lincecum, neither of which you are gonna get for a mid-30's OF. They have some relievers that are interesting including Brian Wilson and Jonathan Sanchez, and if the Yanks could get both it would be a great deal. Sadly, that's unlikely. There's been some talk about the Yanks taking Noah Lowry, which would be absolutely useless unless they could spin him elsewhere. We'll see. There might not be a good mix with the Giants.

Phil could you see the Twins having an interest in Lowry? It's the only thing that makes sense to me. It seems like Cash is up to something to re-visit the Johan deal. Shedding salary, and getting an acceptable piece to the Twins in order to keep Hughes.
I think trading Matsui is definitely a move to open a salary slot for Santana. I wonder if Cash is trying to get Lowry to trade to San Diego (they've been trying to acquire him) for parts for a new Santana deal.
I really though Damon would be the outfielder moved this offseason. Matsui would be really popular in San Fran and I expect him to bounce back this year.
Seems like there's been more interest in Damon, but the Yanks like his D in left. So, they are more likely at this point to move Hit-deki. We'll see what happens. I think Cash is very much in charge, and he generally does things in a pretty stealthy fashion, which leads to sudden announcements.
It sure seems like Cash is in charge here. The rumors we are hearing are definite Cash specials if you ask me. Cash is under-rated as a GM imo.
If you had to guess Phil what do you think are the chances Hit-Deki is moved? If he is moved, I think we all know who will be wearing pinstripes.
Do you still think Igawa and others mentioned the other day are on the move?
I no longer think Damon is. But I do think Igawa is. Depending on what else gets done with the bullpen, I still think Farnsworth could be moved.
Heyman reported today that Yanks approached Cash about an extension, very good news imo.
Actually it was yesterday, do you know why he would not want to talk deal now Phil?
He's too busy. It'll get done once the team is set.
Excellent. As much as Hank talks, he definitely has entrusted Cash with the reigns of the team, and I think he will be rewarded with championships.
Matsui for Sanchez and Wilson?
That'd be great. Where are you hearing that?
Nowhere.
Just my wishfull thinking.
Maybe more like Sanchez and Hennessey.
We'll see. Cash is in stealth mode, apparently, on a number of fronts. Hank mentioned as much, but fortunately has gotten away from giving play by plays of specific deals and is now just mentioning volume.
Cashman is one cool dude.
I hope he WANTS to come back after this season. I can't see anyone else at this point as the GM.
What do you think about Mahay?
I personally think its a bad move although if I had a choice between him and Henn, I would take Mahay cause Henn is putrid.
I don't care one way or another about which Loogy we end up with. I feel like Girardi is gonna be really good with the pen.
Unless we can get Lincecum or Wilson and Sanchez, trading Matsui to the Giants doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Cash better get at least Sanchez and Wilson in this deal or he's a fool!
yeah, it would be bad not to unless the unwanted piece is something the Twins want.
Is there anyway are Sanchez/Wilson/Sosa deal could go down?
I guess we'll see.
Well this trade is dead.
sure looks that way, though they still need O and Rowand isn't a draw.
