UPDATE: Wang ended up going 8 without giving up another run. However, the team was flat and couldn't get anything done offensively. They didn't seem to care. You have to really wonder if taking the pressure off Torre has helped or hurt the team.

Abreu is a gutless piece of shit. He was looking for a walk. He didn't want to swing the bat.
The last pitch was outside and off the plate.
Several pitchers during the inning were off the plate and called strikes. It should have alerted him to foul it off. He's been doing this all season. I can't cut him any slack.
He got in his massive slump by swinging at balls. The ump needs to do his job.
I think the team will right itself. I don't think Abreu will, at least not in NY.

btw, Waldman said Torre complained about the call after the game, saying they only got 26 outs. She can NEVER recall him doing that before, calling it indicative of the level of frustration.
The umps have killed the Yanks all year. I trust Abreu's eye more than an umps.
Here's a chance for Abreu to use his anger at being fucked over by the ump to say "fuck this shit" I am going to stop being a wuss and play the kind of baseball that got me a ridiculous money contract.
I hope he does that.
