Yanks Lose Again, Lousy Pitching and More Overmanaging
With the bases loaded and the Yanks down 4 in the 8th tonight, the svengali of the stupid switch, pinch hit an icecold Johnny Damon for Phelps who had gotten an RBI by drawing a bases loaded walk in his previous at bat. Damon has been hurting and slumping, but if you wanted to PH him why not do it one batter later for Melky? It was a really unnecessary switch and Damon ended up popping out. More absolute crap from Igawa, who may need to work it out in AAA if we ever get enough healthy starters back. Melky, who I've been a huge suporter of had another pretty terrible night. It seems like he's been spiking a lot of rallies lately as well has hitting a ton of balls to second. Maybe he should work it out at AAA. He's not getting anything done for the Yanks and he misplayed another flyball that he should have caught. Love the kid, but he needs to get his head out of his butt. Mo pitched a scoreless 8th and gave us a hint that he might be back.
Oh and ARod hit two more homers and scored 4 of the Yanks 8 runs. The Yanks shouldn't have to score more than 8 to win. We need pitching.

As long as he was going to use Mo, he HAD to use him to relieve Bruney before the game got out of hand.
we better keep A-Rod
we will.
That's what I want to hear. Reading Heyman's article yesterday got me a bit nervous. It makes sense on many levels to keep him. Giambi is almost at the end. Abreu may or may not return, with-out him we have no power from the right side. Too bad our pitching is wasting all of the spectacular numbers he is putting up.
The Yankees have the most resources and they won't be opening the new stadium without Alex Rodriguez. George's one big regret was not keeping Reggie.
That is exactly what I hope they are thinking. With all the new revenue coming in from the new stadium why would you not pay him? I agree that George does regret not keeping Mr. October, and wants to rectify that by keeping the best player in the game imo(some may argue Pujols) in pinstripes for the rest of his career. I think George realizes letting him go would haunt him and the franchise.
ARod can catch a baseball. Therefore he is better than Pujols (who by the way is the poster boy for HGH, his chin gets longer by the season).
I could not agree more. Somehow that gets overlooked. Been a big supporter of A-Rod from day one to the Yankees and want that to continue. We need a big start tonight from Wang. I hope they take special care of Hughes and not over-work him.

I'm sure he is.
