My Top 100 Albums
Okay, I wasn't terribly into Time's list, so I'll be posting mine, in no particular order over the next few months. You've already seen Pet Sounds on this blog, now you've gotta-gotta-gotta own Otis Redding Live in Europe. This is the best live album, ever. Otis is in command as he and the Bar-Kays navigate the highs and lows that his soul dictated. This much more than the single "Dock of the Bay" tells you just what we lost on December 10, 1967. Dig his versions of "Day Tripper" and "Satisfaction." I think this is what started the rumor that Satisfaction was really written by Otis and Steve Cropper and sold to the Mick and Keith in a hotel room. I don't believe it, but I love to hear it. Give a listen.
