More Yanks!

Yankee Hot Stove is on again tonight at 6:30 est. Tonight Bob Lorenz will once again be joined by Tom Verducci and Jack Curry. They'll probably review the Sheff and Wright deals, and might just announce that finalized Moose deal that was awaiting a physical.

Me too, but Cash is patient and will keep doing a great job.

Maybe, but I think it's possible that his off season plan might be constricted by his desire to reduce the payroll long term, thereby precluding the signing of Zito or any other free agent who will command a multi-year contract of $10 or more million per year. It seems he prefers a short term deal with Pettitte instead, which I think is a mistake. If so, I think there will be large opportunity costs.

Of course, he could merely be posturing.

King "reports" that they are interested in Hillenbrand, which wouldn't surprise me given their prior interest in him, and they also want to re-sign Dotel, which I support.

Hillenbrand is Chad Curtis II personalitywise, but he has made himself a good hitter, and batting late in the order, he would rack up ribbies.

We'd half to give Dotel the same kind of deal we gave him this past year.

And Rich, I don't think that he's that handcuffed, and remember, if we don't get a big pitcher now, we can do something before the deadline.

I am not sure how I feel about Zito...I like the fact that he is a innings eater and has done well as an American league pitcher. The whole talk of Proctor converting to a starter sort of minimizes the need to throw boatloads at Barry. Andy was my favorite Yankee since Mattingly when he was here so I have mixed feelings on that as well.

Nomah is about to resign with the Dogers if he hasn't already this morning. Wilson sort of flunked his Yankee audition, though resigning him wouldn't cost a pick like Aurilia would.
