Heroes/Studio 60
Okay, Heroes is moving along and of course the indestructible cheerleader intentionally killed herself at the end of this one to end the life and career of the serial rapist riding next to her. She'll be back next week. The Ali Larter character sort of split into two - one part kicked the crap out of a guy in an elevator, while the other part went to bed with a married politician who can fly but would rather get elected. Go figure him. I can only hope that the Larter character is an homage to Duo Damsel from the old Legion of Superheroes book. Duo Damsel was originally Triplicate Girl, but one of her selves died so that others might live. It was a pretty hairy issue. Anyway, back to Ali, it's also possible that she's just becomes someone else under certain stresses.
Studio 60 is doing the "thoughtful outsider comes in and gets the characters to tell us all about themselves" thing. This time the outsider is Christine Lahti and she is playing a reporter for Vanity Fair, who needs to find out all about the show all the people are working on. They used to have a shrink come in and do this on MASH. Pre-Mash, either Gilligan was keeping a Diary that ended up getting read aloud or Gomer Pyle was writing a letter back to Mayberry. Same stuff dressed differently.
Here's some stunt casting: Ed Asner as the owner of the NBS Network.
