Aroldis Chapman Opts In

Apparently, Chapman got the Yanks to add another year to his deal, so he's opting stay rather than opting out.  This only makes sense as long as it doesn't limit their ability to make other deals that add salary while the Chapman deal is active. It has seemed as if the Ellsbury deal has hamstrung them a bit over the past few years, but we'll see.
