The Yanks didn't waste time declining their option on Edwin Encarnacion. I think they'll end up giving Didi a QO that he may not accept, too. In general, it's probably the best policy to not attach names to the Yankee needs this year. They're changing their approach to picking players, and as we saw with DJ Lemahieu and James Paxton last offseason, so more of those kind of acquisitions should be expected - even if we can't attach the names yet.
One interesting guy, is Japanese lefty swinging 1B/LF Yoshitomo Tsutsugo. He's going to be posted some time in November or December and the he was a guest of the Yankees during their ALCS home games. Interesting guy, who can also play 3B in a pinch.
They need versatile guys.
