Big Maple is Big Time
Over James Paxton's last seven starts, he's 7-0 with a 2.98 era, and oodles of strikeouts. In other words he's looking exactly like the pitcher the Yanks thought they were getting - and just in time for the playoffs. Last year, Paxton said he had finally figured something out and now it looks like he has again. Or maybe that knee that put him on the shelf earlier in the season has finally stopped barking. But, more likely, Big Maple has just inverted his pitching tendencies and is relying more on his curve ball than he was earlier in the season. In any event, instead of getting Happ 2, it looks like the Yanks have another ace. Oh, and Sevy should be ready to return for the post season.
