Miguel Andujar Opts for Season Ending Surgery

It's just been announced that Miguel Andujar will have season ending surgery on his torn labrum on Monday.  This is really disappointing but seems necessary given what he couldn't do once he returned.  He'll be back next Spring. Rings of harmony around his perfect recovery and return.

Sucks but they tried and it just couldn't be avoided. I hope the fact that it's a smaller tear means the recovery time is quicker. Still like his bat a lot.

As bad as their luck has been with injuries this season, it sure is nice they've gotten the production they have from German so far as compensation.

They're about to be 10 games over .500 with their 2 best hitters and ace and best relievr on the IL for most the season so far. They are 10 games over!

German and Urshela have saved their season.

If this true, the Yankees have failed to exploit an opportunity for too long.

Maybe they should have kept Gio and gotten rid of Happ.

Four starts is too small a sample size to judge that decision, and like Happ, Gio isn’t giving them length.

Hope Paxton is back soon. I like what Cessa has brought this year but I’m wary of him starting.

Clint Frazier has grown up:

“We have a Gold Glover sitting on the bench,” Frazier said of Gardner, who won the award in 2017.

“It’s the better play, I think. Obviously, I’ve had some stuff in the past that shouldn’t have happened that did. It’s not like it’s unwarranted, you know? I want the team to win as many games as we can. And Gardy coming in right there is no doubt the right play.”

RE: The Scherzer talk... Not that I think it's a realistic possibility, but given the impending signing of Jasson Dominguez and the fact Antonio Cabello is already in the system, I would actually be willing to part with Florial for him, assuming Scherzer is still Scherzer stuff-wise.

I haven’t heard that. talk. But if they got him or any other good starter, who will they take out of the rotation? It can’t be German.

This Gardner situation is tricky. It’s obvious they signed him mostly for his clubhouse presence, but the guy is clearly done, and if Stanton and Judge do get healthy, how do you justify sending down Frazier and DFAing Maybin so Gardner can remain? Heck, how do you justify him starting now that Hicks is back?

Yup. And Green sucks.

Gio the god does it again. At this point I’m surprised when he doesn’t have a big hit.

Coley Harvey: Giancarlo Stanton has been facing live pitching in Tampa as he goes through rehab for his shoulder. Aaron Boone says he was hit in the knee yesterday, but checked out OK. He’ll face more live pitching today, in hopes of starting a rehab assignment Monday with the High-A Tarpons.
