Rangers Stuff
The Winnipeg Jets were eliminated today and the Rangers have their first round pick from the Hayes trade. That pick will fall between 18-22, which is great in this deep draft. This promises to be a very interesting Summer for the Blueshirts. First, they'll have the posssibility of adding a third first rounder if the Stars make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs. Otheriwise it becomes another second, but that would still be cool since it's such a deep group, and the Ranger rebuild requires all the picks they can collect.
That said, drafting second overall and selecting Hughes or Kakko totally changes the organizational trajectory. At that point, it might become wise to see if they can't move Kreider and Georgiev for more top ten picks, or moves them for a young first pair defenseman. Georgiev has shined in international play, but since Igor is coming over, he should be available.
Another thing that could happen by the draft or during the draft is the whole D Adam Fox isssue. Fox is a Hobie Baker finalist for Harvard and is from Jericho, New York. His rights have already been traded from the Flames to Carolina, but he won't sign with Carolina. He wants to be a Ranger. He's already 21 and thus older than many of the Rangers top prospects, and is an offensive defenseman with a right shot, who can run the heck out of a power play. If he hangs on to his guns - he's already told Carolina he's going back for his senior year - he should be a Ranger in the next month or two.
Adding the #2, plus the rest of picks, and Fox would really elevate the Rangers prospect rankings even higher.
Big Summer on the way!

Yep, Rangers future looking better and better. We have some great young players within 3-4 years from each other that will grow and hopefully take the next and final step the previous youth movement should have secured, a Stanley Cup! Add a few veterans to this young team and they'll get better year to year.
Took 9 days!
