Oh, and I dismissed Holder as a AAAA player, so here's to me eating some crow. If they just had a second reliable lefty reliever they'd be set in the pen.
Makes sense since it's a day game after a night game and it's rainy over here.
These have been huge wins, Mariners were one of the hottest teams in baseball.
We also need to credit Boone for being smart and pitching Chapman in the 9th of a tie game. Although there wouldn't have been a save situation, Servais kept his "closer" on the bench and it cost them.
Gonna commit blasphemy here for a second: I love Greg Bird, but I’m not convinced he’s gonna be healthy enough for a long enough period of time to hit like he’s capable of hitting. I realize this is essentially his spring training, but at some point they’re gonna need consistent production from first. Maybe Clint goes for a good first baseman?
If you let up 4 runs in 6 IP you are a 4th starter. That’s what Gray has been. They traded for a 2. But in 20 years Cashman has sucked at trading for established starters.
They’ll be fine, but part of the problem is Bird’s health and the fact that they continue to think Gardner and Hicks are anything more than bottom-of-the-order hitters. (Granted, they’re good ones, but they should be platooning.)

Two guys who really needed a big moment got theirs tonight.
I'm not saying winning when you're down 5-0 is likely, but you never really do feel like this team is out of it if the score is relatively close.

Great win.
But unless they are keeping him to challenge their own hitters’ comeback ability, Shreve needs to go.
Kahnle's got his velo back and is back to dominating in AAA. Swap them out.
Frazier is in CF today and batting lead off. Let's see how he does.
Uh oh. Romine is catching Severino. I hope he doesn’t mess him up.

Cessa up. He has never been able to be consistent here.
Cole to the DL with a sore neck. I guess Cessa is here as the "long man" though he's generally been the long gone man.
Freakin Romine
He selfishly swung through a ball 4. Pissed me off at him again.
Regression to the mean.
This game proves that Sanchez doesn’t get enough love
Win
Through all of Gary's struggles, his OPS + was an even 100, so average.
50th win.
11th for Sevy, who only 14 last year because of 6 blown saves. Girardi'd.
They're keeping Frazier up at least through the Tampa series.
Sevy says he wasn't comfortable. Didn't feel like himself.
They need to play Frazier every day until he proves otherwise.
No room for Frazier? Really?
Free Clint Frazier.
No let’s keeo stacking the lineup with low AVG hitters.
He had a nice little run earlier in the season, but I'm not sure what Neil Walker brings to the table anymore.
I agree.
This is total bullshit I am not happy with Boone or anyone who construct these freaking lineups.

They will be fine. Too much talent not to snap out of it.
Gray pitched well enough for the win.

Frazier has to play. If it’s at 1B, so be it.
