Knicks Draft - Night Before

Alright, there are rumors afloat that the Knicks are trading up for Mo Bomba. They'd have to take back Parsons contract, but maybe they are into buidling throug the draft and savvy trades rather than doing what the did in 2010, spend years making room for two starts, and only getting their third choice. Maybe they've learned. Maybe they haven't.  We'll probably hear more rumors about the Knicks and target by the time the Draft starts tomorrow night.  Let's talk about them here.

UPDATE: Kyle O'Quinn has opted out.

I LOVE this mentioned trade ....

Memphis gets: Tim Hardaway Jr., Kyle O’Quinn, and the 36th overall pick.

New York gets: Chandler Parsons, and the 4th overall pick.

So we would have the #4 and #9 pick in this years draft...no futures but Parsons contract...

FYI ..the above is NOT THE rumored trade but a writers proposal ..

KOQ opted out, so we can't trade him.

Several agents are under the impression that NYK is strongly opposed to signing free agents to long-term contracts this summer. The goal appears to be to preserve cap space for 2019. So if NYK wants to re-sign Kyle O’Quinn, maybe the club offers him a raise on a 1-year deal?

Kyle O'Quinn declining his $4.25M contract will only impact the Knicks cap space this offseason if Enes Kanter decides to decline his $18.6M option. If Kanter returns, New York will be right at the cap. New York will have the $8.6M non tax midlevel and $3.4M biannual exception.

THJ/9 for Parsons/4 is very intriguing.

Noah & Parsons will expire at the same time and cuts a year off our cap since THJ is signed an extra year.

I also saw a potential Noah/9/36 for Parsons/4 which essentially saves Memphis 11mil...Who really knows, I think Lee/Lance/9 for Parsons/4 makes the most sense since Memphis would then have Conley/Lee/Gasol/9 and gets out from Parsons deal.

Either way, I would love a move up to either 3 or 4 to grab Doncic, then Jaren Jackson and then Bamba.

If Doncic is there Memphis picks him, if not they could trade the pick. I prefer Bamba!

There are always a lot of rumors, and I don’t want to get my hopes up for anything really big that I would like, so what I really really want is them for not to make a safe with a pick at nine. If they do that I will be pissed.
