Knicks Stuff
Okay, while we've been following the Yanks and their draft the Knicks and done some things. First, they have hired Royal Ivey as an assistant to Coach Fiz. Ivey played a bunch and was on the Hawks when Fiz was an assistant, so they probably have a good understanding of each other. Secondly, they have now completed their workout with Trae Young. They've even gone down or are going down to interview his Oklahoma coaches. They must know and be comfortable with the cost of trading up, because he won't be there at 9. Neither will Wendell Carter Jr. who is coming in to work out next. I would be pretty thrilled with either of these guys, and I hope the Knicks have a great plan and know what they're doing. KP says he feels great.

The only things off limits future ones, any of them, KP, and probably Frank
If they learn to only offer ones that are lottery protected like every other team, they can trade a future one to move up for the right guy. Hopefully, they can then flip Lee for something.
I read Trae Young will only workout for Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, and New York. Chicago is high on him but if they pick him another great player slips down.
Yes, but protected to what? Is Young worth a protected to 5 pick? They have so many holes that they would probably need full lotttery protected and then it becomes much less valuable.
Lee should be moved, and net something of value. Like what I’m seeing from Fiz. I had wants him from the day he was fired in Memphis., as readers of the blog know. I watched a lot of their games via league pass, and you could see how good Fiz was making adjustments and coaching up his players. I think they should just take the best player available and go from there. We don’t want any more Antonio McDyess trades...
That won’t happen. That was definitely one of the stupidest trades I their history, for a player coming off a major knee injury. That’s why it is obvious that coaching hasn’t been the biggest problem, it has been talent, and the employment of fatuous GMs.
They can protect for the whole lottery, can't they?
Yes but as I said the pick becomes less valuable.
That’s why I wonder if Hardaway has any value as a trade up candidate because I have a lot of guards, and Fuzdale talks about guards rather than ones and twos.
My guess is he doesn’t.
According to an NBA source, Jud Buechler, a member of the 72-win Bulls team of 1995-96, has finalized a contract to join Fizdale’s new coaching staff.
