Vigneault Out

The Rangers did not waste any time. Tonight, they parted ways, as they had to with Alain Vigneault. Just got in and found out.  This had to be done and should have been done sooner as the diminishing returns could not be denied and paralleled pretty closely his tenure in Vancouver: Close but no cigar.   We'll never forget the President's Cup season or the run at the Stanley Cup - that was lost on a bunch of uncalled but clear as day goalie interferences. Robbery.  Anyway, the key now will be to get a new coach who will be great with kids.  We'd heard mixed things about AV and kids when he came in, but the negatives turned out to be on the money. I don't think it will be Lindy Ruff or anything like that, but we'll see.  I believe this will be the first time since the late `70s or early `80s that our 4 teams will be making a coaching change in a single season.  That is if the Knicks do the right thing and can Horny.  Thought the Ranger might wait till Monday, but, they too care of business.  Hope they have a great plan that doesn't include squandering assets.

Definitely he right move had to be made. Av was and is horrible with kids. Gorton is going to be extremely busy. 8th pick, and I do expect him to try and move up.
