The Knicks Fire Hornacek
It's early Thursday Morning back East, but the Knicks have fired Jeff Hornacek, as we all expected. He was bad under Phil Jackson and the triangle was blamed. Then he was bad on his own. He was supposed to be a "guard whisperer" but he overplatyed Jack most of the year, underplayed and underdeveloped Frank and that other Guards. Hardaway played the 3 most of the year and he didn't develop much, either. Like the Rangers, and Yankees the Knicks will once again be a young team next year, and they need a good coach. I'm hoping for Villanova's Jay Wright, but I suppose Blatt is more likely. Anyway, as a final FU from Horny tonight, the Knicks won their last game and, without lottery luck, will pick 9th. And it's not a great draft.

Can’t see Wright taking it, but I hope I’m wrong.
You may be right, but I'm hoping you're wrong, too.
The more I think about it more I like the idea of a top college coach, I wish the Giants had thought about that.

Steve Mills says one factor in the coaching search will be how that person understands today's player and the complexities of today's game, such as analytics and a modern approach to strength training.
Isola says they want to meet with Jay Wright. College and pro hoops are more similar than college football and NFL football are. While I do believe Saban is either the first or second best football coach in the world, he didn't work out well in Miami and Chip Kelly didn't work out with the Eagles.
I thought you like David Shaw?
The Sixers and the Celtics are going to be very good for a while, so I would think to get Wright to listen you probably have to give him some personnel authority and a record breaking contract.
Rich, I did a few years ago, but they've lost some games they should have won since then. And yes, the Celts (who know how to collect picks) and the Sixers (who know how to tank and win lotteries) will be good for a long time. It would be good to hire a great coach who can install a system, that, unlike the triangle, makes the Knicks a big destination again.
I hear you.
