Knicks Beat the Cavs!

Holy crap.  We may have 3 exciting player not 2.  Tim Harday went for 34 and 8 assists tonight, while KP went for 32 and 12 boards.  Frank still played really intense D, but didn't compile many numbers on O, which is okay.  He's not playing with KP much.  He did thread some needles with his passing. The Knicks are now a surprising 2-3 and have won their two quite convincingly.  Are they the young Yanks of the hardcourt?

They moved the ball, hit the boards, and showed effort defensively.

It's great that the Knicks are winning but I want to see a championship in my lifetime. I don't just want a playoff team. You need superstars in BB to do this, so you either get them via FA or the draft. The cap does not allow for a team of superstars via FA so you need a base of young talent, usually via a high draft pick(s) or steal(s) in the draft. I think at minimum we need one more young player with elite upside(top 2 pick) this coming year, this would make us very attractive to a superstar FA that could lead the young team to greatness.

Here's the thing, though, the Knicks now seem to have a 1 a 2 and a 4 they can win with. Plus, they have all their first round picks and will have cap room. So they can get their winning 3 and 5 either through the draft or through FA. What's more, if KP and Hardaway keep going off they will be superstars.

It’s still unclear whether or not they have another big time scorer on the roster, but Porzingis definitely is that or more.

Between Kanter and O'Hara they're getting about 25 points and 20 boards on game to game basis from the Center position. Also, THjr and Frank are both going to end up scoring more.

Imagine what he could be with an elite PG.

They can’t compete unless Porzingis plays at a very high level.

So Porzingis has some kind of illness, and separately his brother is suggesting that tangible progress toward constructing a winning team is a condition precedent to a long term relationship with the franchise.
