Yanks Draft Day 3 Preview
We've arrived at Day 3. This should be called The Scouts Special because they are free from the constraints of drafting seniors for pool purposes and can start bringing in their favorites. Last year they found Trey Amburgey on Day 3, as well as Josh Rogers, Will Carter, Zack Zehner (who's having a good year when he can play), Isiah Gilliam and a bunch of other intriguing guys. So this should be fun.
The Yanks will pick 30 players today and end up signing at least 20 of them, though lately, it feels like they're signing over 30 per, and that's artificially foisted by the ridiculous rules of the first ten rounds.
It feels like they probably saved enough in rounds 2 and 4-10 to spend a little extra today. Enjoy!

I think the signing number will likely be light compared to last year. That's probably a function of the IFA influx and also the slower progression through the low minors because of the winnowing effect of feeding four short-season teams into Low A.
It think it will be because they popped so many preps relative to the short pool money, and expected expense of getting a top 5 player at 18.
