Knicks Sit on Their Hands

The Knicks just wasted about 5 hours of my time doing nothing.  That is, doing nothing in the draft.  But by doing that they were doing something, first, I think they were realizing that there was going to be a pool of players that went undrafted from the second round who were as good as the guys who were drafted.  Second, I think they were reaching out to those players.  Almost  immediately after the draft WOJ announced the Knicks had signed Wichita St. swingman Ron Baker.  He's a good defender who can shoot.  Other guys who they were linked with, like Yogi Farrell, are also free to sign. So let's see what they do in the next few days on the UDFA side, they have a lot of spots to fill on the roster, as well as the Summer League roster, and not that much time to do it.

By not giving away future Assets, for a NOW pick is smart. I see there was a pick #38 traded for financial considerations, wondering why the Knicks did not go that route. I know they were interested in Isaiah Whitehead according to reports, could have had him at pick #38, for cash. The problem with negotiating with FA's at the end of the draft is that they can sign with any team. So you have no guarantee.

This is a good spot to see 2016 NBA Draft free agent signings.

I read they didn't to want to spend more than $2m for a pick and the price rose above that.

It's seems pretty clear that Melo is a big part of the plan.

Lawyer. I thought being lean and explosive was good when Carmelo lost the weight and got into shape but it seems he took a beating and got injured. I'm sure in Rose' case, it should be better on his legs/knees, he should hopefully not be taking the pounding forwards take in the low post. We'll have to wait and see.

They won't have to if they get Durant.
