Giants Showing Interest in Some Players
The "legal" tampering period has begun and the Giants have already been linked with three players, not including the DE's we talked about over the weekend, who would make tremendous sense for them.
George Iloka is a big safety who can play in the box, but has the athleticism and coverage ability to play free safety. That would let Landon Collins really develop in the box, and would create a pretty fearsome starting duo, and immediately turn Berhe, Jackson and Thompson into nice young depth, if they can stay healthy.
The bigger deal is that they've alread contacted RT Mitchell Schwartz and RG Mike Harris. And those two would absolutely solve the right side and give the Giants 5 real OL's they can roll out on game day for the first time since the Super Bowl OL's started breaking down. These two, or two like them would be absolutely huge upgrades.
Here we still favor the plan of adding one of Johnson or Williams and one of Jackson or Vernon at DE, unless JPP stays, then it's one of the other 4 with JPP. Ayers wants 10M a year and that's a non-starter.
The Giants also need a CB, and help at LB, WR, and TE. But if what we're hearing about today is the beginning of a plan, I really like it.

It's all about how much money/years.
Guaranteed money and structure, and it hasn't been a problem is years.
Seems like a different approach with the names we are being linked to, and I like it. Very curious to see who we wind up with.
Johson left without a deal. Was hoping we'd land him.
I agree was hoping that also., I hope this doesn't become a pattern.
It may just mean the asking price is too high.
Titans getting Murray.
* Cross veteran defensive end Mario Williams off the list. He's not in play for the Giants at this time, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media.
Mario Williams to the 'phins.
Reese on a roll! Osmele to Raiders. Raanan, is refuting iloka, and most of the other names mentioned yesterday
I can't fault him yet because overspending in free agency has not worked too often.
True, however poor drafting has forced him into this position. He is going to need a haul and may have to overpay some to get players he wants.
No doubt, as I have said, there is no way that Reese should have kept his job once Coughlin lost his.
Raanan thinks he knows more than he knows.
JPP 1 year not so bad I guess
If his hand is likely to improve in terms of grabbing ability, I'm all for it.
I mean, you can't say that he hasn't shown heart and courage, and has retained his quickness. He just needs a non-club.
That was me...
No definitely not, just with so many needs, I didn't want an overpay, and seems like it's incentives mainly..
