Porzingis Gets His First Double-Double in Knicks Loss
Kristaps Porzingis only played 24 minutes tonight because of early foul trouble, and then getting injured by Melo landing on his neck under the hoop. That said, he contributed 13 points, 14 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals. We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg with this 20 year old. He's still not shooting like he has and can from the three and some of his other spots. But that's crazy production. Grant played well, too, with 12 points, 3 assists and 5 boards. Seraphin made his regular season debut, too. But they were just outclassed by the Spurs.
Btw, I think Phil Jackson is drawing from the Spurs team building and organizational patterns, as much as he is from his Lakers, Bulls and Knicks past.

Definitely big positives. Just. Stay. Healthy.

Kristaps Porzingis said he was "surprised" this morning with how well his neck responded to treatment. He expects to play tomorrow.
It's great to be young. I pull more muscles now and the linger and linger...
They could've won this game with a smarter coach. Calderon is done yet Fisher doesn't realize it. Their shot selection in the fourth quarter was terrible.
Also waited too long to bring Porzi back even with five fouls.
They got reffed, and the refs put the brakes on them in the second quarter. One of the reasons why I prefer college hoops.
Sure, but they can't control that. They can control putting their best players on the floor.
I'm gonna be a little more patient. I think the orders from above are to get Calderon going until they can trade him.
That could be, but that's exactly what I hate about the Yankees. If you make a mistake admit it, don't double down. Of course, with the Yankees there is a much bigger sample size to to demonstrate the case to go young and eat contracts, and there aren't cap considerations.
With the Knicks, I'm concerned about reinforcing the losing mentality when there seems to be an opportunity to change it quicker than might've been previously thought.
The other thing is that whatever remains of Calderon's value may be showcased more effectively if he comes off the bench.
In a segment on MSG Network's "Nothing But Knicks," Knicks head coach Derek Fisher offered an interesting theory for why he thinks Porzingis has been able to adjust to the NBA so smoothly, where many thought he'd struggle.
"It seems very simple," Fisher said, "but his understanding and command of the English language, being able to speak it, being able to understand it at a very high-level, I think it's helping with his transition."
"He's not struggling to understand what he needs to do, it's just going to take him time to become really consistent at it, like all rookies need time to develop. So, I'm not so surprised [at how smooth the transition has been], but I know there will be times where I wish it was going a little bit faster."
Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.

Tough game tonight v. a team that is going to want to avenge the blowout last week, right bot?
No one is trading for Caldaron. This needs to end.
Horrible first period for the Knicks.
They won the second period, so they just have to keep it up and they can win.
Zinger had another double double.
The 1st period holes have been a killer. They may need to add a G even with Affalo.
Yes, KP has been the most impressive Knick by far.
“If they get an opportunity to shoot the ball I think they can make them,” Fisher said. “It is not really about one or two guys. If we are relying on Sasha and Jose to score then we aren’t doing things the right way.”

A lot of players missed open shots and that was a big reason they lost, but the problem with those two is that they can't guard ANYONE.
Can't lose today....
