Knicks Bash Bucks
Holy crap! The Knicks just beat the Bucks, 122-97 in Milwaukee. I hope you got to see, because for the first time in years, they played like a team on offense and defense. Melo was off early, but shared the ball and played concerned and concerted defense. Porzingis and Grant had terrific debuts as they both showed great talent on O and D, and within the team concept. Derrick Williams was probably the star of the night, coming off the bench to score 24 points. Langston Galloway also looked much improved, and deadly form 3. Oh, and Kyle O'Quinn was a beast in the first half, posting 8 point, 9 boards, and great D. He wasn't as productive in the second, but I'm not sure he is used to being as trusted as he as out there tonight. I'm glad the Knicks locked him up, but starting to get concerned that they didn't lock up Willams. Both look like break out possibilities. At the end of the game, when the resuly had been determined, Galloway and Grant and the others set up the Lance Thomas show. Just a great night to be a Knick fan, and probably the most fun since Linsanity.

I loved what I saw from Grant and Williams, in particular.
Calderone's D is going to be an issue.
Galloway and Grant will mitigate that.
the most excited I was for the start of the Knick season in a long time, love these young players. O'Quinn is Oakley like in his toughness. Love it!
Calderone's D will be an issue, starting tonight. Jeff Teague will run him ragged. I look for Grant and Gaklloway to get major minutes against Teague.
Too many missed open shots, allowed too many open shots for them, which they've made, and too many turnovers
And I know it's early, but at some point thecsecond-team backcourt is going to have to become the first team backcourt along with Afalo in the mix.
Back to back to start the season...
True except for Calderon
I think they'll play him just long enough to get his legs back then trade him.
I don't think he still has legs in that sense.
In any case, I think it will demonstrate the most value coming off the bench in a limited role, the sooner the better.
Oh and I praised Vujacic during the preseason. Disregard that comment.
It's only been two games, but backups Jerian Grant and Langston Galloway have outscored their foes by 20.5 points per 36 minutes, according to NBA.com.
More:
"They are getting outscored by 12.1 points per 36 minutes when starters Calderon and Sasha Vujacic are on the floor."
So, let's say Calderon can improve. Why should't he start when that happens rather than while it remains uncertain?
