Kristaps Conquers Houston

After a sort of middling night last night, Kristaps Porzingas went off for the second time in three games tonight.  He just scored 24 points, while grabbing 14 boards and blocking 7 shots.  He also had two assists and was charged with only 1pf.   This was in thirty five minutes in the second of back to backers. Melo only played 24 and scored 14 with 6 boards, and Lance Thomas played too much again.   Let's hope they get that figured out.  Because winning, is like better than losing, man.  Also. the time to build around Kristaps and move Melo is coming, if it's not already here.

Two players have had a stat line of 24 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 blocks at the age of 20 or younger: Shaquille O’Neal & Kristaps Porzingis.

Before his 24-point, 14-rebound, seven-block domination of the Rockets, Porzingis said he’s trying to add Nowitzki’s patented fadeaway, one-legged jumper.

Sure enough, he tried the Euro step Saturday, but missed badly. The rookie still shot 8 of 12 from the field.

“I still got to work on it,’’ Porzingis said before his monstrous game in the Knicks’ 107-102 win over the Rockets. “That’s a shot I want to take from Dirk and learn how he does it and get that separation. It’s unguardable, that shot. I still got to work at it and a lot of things. It’s definitely one of the things I want to add to my game.’’

Nowitzki told ESPN of the 7-foot-3 Knicks rookie: “He is for real. Sky’s the limit. … He is long. He is athletic. He is tough. He’s got a touch. He can put it on the floor."

I liked Fisher's 5 down the stretch, all things considered, in large part because Gallo was on the floor, and Lopez, who can be TO prone, wasn't.

Not sure why O'Quinn is dead to him though.
