Yup, he's on the way up, too.
The rotation being problematic doesn't concern me too much this early. 7 of the top 11 seeing minutes right now are new to the team this year, and we haven't even worked Affalo in yet. I expect it will take time and will probably be mid year before we see the best line up combinations getting significant minutes together. If we can stay around .500 until then I think this is a playoff team.
I don't think the issue with Calderon or Vujacic is unfamiliarity, I think it's a quickness deficit that is resulting in early deficits against good teams, and it exposes the front court to the risk of additional fouls because those two are regularly getting beaten off the dribble.
Affalo can help against 2-guards, but even average PGs are unguardable for Calderon.
A win tonight be really good.
Great win...they all are at this point, and Fisher gets props for exploiting Thomas, but he can't play Calderon in the final defensive possessions.
I thought the final call could have gone either way but there wasn't clear enough evidence to overturn it.
So the real issue is they didn't get enough time on the clock
Fisher is a shit coach at this point. How was Affalo not on the court more in the 4tth? Why are no plays run for Porzingis? Why does Amundson get so many minutes? Why does Thomas? Why doesn't he run Melo and Porzingis off screens?
Yeah the refs blow, but he gives shit calls more power.
Fisher has been awful this season.
