Giants Withdraw Longterm Offer to JPP
According to reports, the Giants have withdrawn their offer of a 60M extension to JPP in the wake of his fireworks accident. Thus, he'll play under the franchise tag this year, and likely move on, unless he can prove he is somehow not the professional who almost blew his hand off yesterday.
Because of this move, the Giants won't be taking any first year savings on a new JPP deal, and will probably end up getting it by extending Eli sooner than later.

He can really turn this into a net positive.
It seems like he may have escaped a complete tragedy.
If so, people have short memories.
If he somehow has a big year, the nominal money figure will be there on a long-term deal.
What won't likely be there from any team is the same guaranteed money.
Oh and in my opinion, waiting to extend Eli has only cost them more money.
It's not his fault they messed up the OL for so long.

There’s concern Jason Pierre-Paul could miss training camp, start of regular season, per team source; team still awaiting more medical info.
The information vacuum has sent the media speculation machine into a frenzy of negativity.
