Yankee Update

Alas, they have already lost Trey Hillman again.  Thus far through their offseason, which once again started early, the Yankees have gotten rid of some they no longer wanted, and lost some they wanted to keep, without adding anyone.  So, instead of controlling the number of holes, they will now be somewhat controlled by them.   Gotta wonder if there'll be anybody left by the time they have their organizational meetings.

The Cashman curse.

Stinks about Hillman. Maybe he can manage the club after Girardi's deal is up.

RE: Friedman to LA — I'm not as high on him as I was a year ago. I've been unimpressed with their player development when they stopped getting top-end draft picks, and let's be honest, that Price trade was a fleecing in favor of the Tigers. Still will be interested to see what he does with a big budget.

We already know what Cashman can't do with a big budget.

And btw, the Rays have had a lot of good players without high-end picks:

Cobb 4th round

Hellickson 4th round

Moore 8th round (yes, he's hurt
but that's not unique in MLB today)

Jennings 10th round (not great
but would be an achievement on the Yankees)

If Cashman could sigh that record, is bs resume would be less bs.

Having said that, fresh eyes are important, but whatever. We're stuck.
