Yanks: Phelps and Friends Shutout A's

David Phelps pitched 6.2 innings of 2 hit, 3 walk 4K shutout ball.   Dellin Betances pitched 1.1 innings of shutout ball, and Jose Ramirez tacked on a final frame of shutout baseball.  That's two draft picks and an IFA.   Phelps was wonderful.   Not as efficient as Whitley but a brilliant bounce back start.

The Yanks are starting to hit and grind a little more, as their 7 runs demonstrated.   Brian Roberts apparently finished the night with his knee wrapped.   They could be close to making a change there.

Oh and both Lindgren and DeCarr are signed.

Phelps showed they don't need pitching. They do need a young hitter or three that can both SLG and get on base.

Speaking of those:
