Tanaka Shuts Out Mets, Now 6-0

Mashiro Tanaka recorded his first complete game and first shutout tonight as the Yanks beat the Mets 4-0.  Tanaka scattered 4 hits with 8K's and no walks.  He also got his first base hit.   Solarte and Tex homered for the Yanks.   Brian Roberts had a pair of triples.  But tonight was once again about Tanaka.  Where would we be without our ACE?   And where will we find more pitchers?    Oh well, till next time he pitches, Go Yanks!

Tanaka both highlights why it was so smart to go all out for him and why it was so dumb not to go after other high-potential international talent.

Yes, any time they can just use their most abundant resource resource, money, to sign young, high-end talent, they would be fools not to, at least until they get a GM who can actually develop talent on a consistent basis. If Hal really wants the franchise to be run lean and mean, it's astounding that he can't see that.

It's been explained to the org many times. Several million spread around the right teenagers saves hundreds of millions down the pike.

Btw, we may have lucked into something with Solarte. The line drives and walks are real.
