Giants Draft: Review Pt 2 The Return of Toughness
One real positive that can be drawn from the 7 picks the Giants made over the last few days is that they are all refreshingly tough and hard workers. This pretty big for a team that has been losing its toughness over the past few years. It's hasn't just been so-so drafting, but some of their toughest guys like Seubert and Jacobs retired, Bradshaw is gone, Hakeem declined and left, Snee has declined we didn't have any tough linebackers till Beason showed up, etc. This was no longer the team that physically humiliated the Steelers and Ravens during the 2008 regular season. Nor was it the team that beat up the Pats in 42 and 46. They looked soft against some teams lately. That hurt my feelings.
But they obviously either woken up or realized what one of their roster wide missing ingredients was, because all 7 of these guys are tough. Even Beckham is fearless and loves bouncing up after big hits. Richburg is a perfect School of Snee fit. Jay Bromley - the most controversial pick we made, used to fight people who looked at him wrong - until he found football. Andre Williams is as physical as Jacobs. Berhe is a violent DB. And both Kennard and Jackson love paying the price. At the very least Specials will be greatly improved.
But I think the Giants did a lot to get their identity back and that's a big step in the right direction.

I agree completely with this assessment. For me it was so obvious as to be almost tangible. It may be wishful thinking but I believe this draft class has the potential to turn the team around.
Throw in an animal like Schwartz and suddenly, Beatty is the exception, not the norm.
Bromley is the most intriguing character in this regard. You can question why he was taken in the third but he's a cat that's going to bust you in the mouth and I love rooting for guys like that.
This is the same team of scouts that shocked everyone by taking Osi where we took him and JPP where we took him, maybe even Linval where we took him. We tend to be right about DL's.
