Giants Draft: Day Three Preferences

The NFL Draft will start up again at noon eastern. The Giants have 4 picks left.  The Giants still have more roster needs than picks, but I don't want them drafting for need, anyway.  I want them drafting for want.   I only really want them to do 3 things today.   I'd like them to get another clean OL who can come in and compete, preferably a tackle.  I'd like them to get an additional running back for the rotation.   I've had a feeling it would be BC's Andre Williams for a long time.   He's a bruising power back who may not be able to catch.  I also wouldn't mind a Lache Seastrunk or Kadeem Carey.  Additionally, I'd like them to find an edge rusher, maybe one of the small school kids I talked about last month.

What's important that they not do is take Seantrel Henderson as their tackle pick.   He has everything necessary to be a first round pick, except desire.   He was the most talented guy on Miami and he kept losing his job. Plus he flunked the pot test.  Plus he cut short a workouts.    The hit rate on guys like that is very low.  So even if we can't get a Giant Type tackle here on day 3, I would be shocked if we don't find a better bet than Seantrel in UDFA.

Also, it will be interesting to see if we can get a good player with our seventh rounder.   We really haven't done well in the seventh since we took Ahmad Bradshaw -- of course, that was one of our all time great picks that got us two Lombardis.

So let's see if we can get "a guy" in the 7th this year.

Just curious Phil, what makes you think they'll get anyone in the 7th? Is this a test of some sort? Perhaps they'll get a Yankee bat :-)

It's a deep draft, and their visits and interviews make it look like they are well prepared.

Point is I don't think they have a 7th round pick Phil because they traded it for Beason. Did they get another one somehow?

I'll agree that UDFA's are even more important to the team this year given there will still be needs post draft.
