Strang Confirms The Multiple Teams Have Been Given Permission to Negotiate with Cally

Okay, this is now ridiculous.   The Rangers seem to be auctioning off their Captain as he plays for them tonight.  By giving multiple teams permission to talk to Cally's agent, they are basically granting him his free agency today and allowing him to field offers.    Now we'll see if anyone outbids the Rangers and if the Rangers can extract what they'd need to to part with their Captain and a significant figure in the restoration of the Rangers as a competitive team.    I hope this doesn't drag out, because it's monopolizing my blog time.  I've been meaning to write about Yankee prospects at some point.

I do see why you would trade him, as you can't pay him 7 year term for 6 plus, I don't think anyone would disagree. I wonder truly how bad things have gotten for it to go this south this fast.
