Another Look at the Giant Tea Leaves

Okay, last week during a lull in the action, I told you what I thought would happen.  So far, part of it has.  Yesterday, I was surprised when Ingram and Pope were fired.   I'd been calling for a new QB coach as part of the change all along.  Now, having said that, I believe they are still going to bring one in.   And I wouldn't be surprised if it was our old pal Mike Sullivan.  He could be game if he doesn't get another OC job.  He had success with Eli before and if he can be part of the big turnaround he could be in line for another OC job somewhere next year.    I think Coach Ryan will then probably become the new running backs coach.   Then I think they're hoping Karl Dorrell will take their WR job and move Gilbride Jr. to TE's coach.

Sullivan is intimately familiar with Eli's mechanics and could provide some continuity while Eli's learning the new stuff.  Dorrell was a fantastic WR coach in Shanahan's  version of the WCO several years ago, and would be a great guy to teach the WR's what they'll have to do differently in the new system.

Here's another thing:  The Giants have to extend Coughlin now, and may have already.  But another thing is, if McAdoo fixes our O in one year, he could be offered head coaching opportunities as soon as next offseason.   Would the Giants then have to scrap the new O?   It's an interesting situation.
