Yanks After Ackley?
Having lost their all-star 2B to the Mariners, would it even make sense for the Yanks to now acquire Dustin Ackley, who has played mostly second for the Mariners? Well he hasn't exactly played up to his draft status so far. Shining in his first call-up, he's been a disappointment over the last two years. Still he won't turn 26 till February and he has graded out as a good defender at second. As long as the Yanks don't have to give up the equivalent value for what the Mariners spent (2nd overall) this might not be a terrible idea. He's a lefty bat that would benefit from YS and it was just a few years ago that he was drawing comparisons to Chase Utley. Could still be some upside. Anwyway, I don't think the Yanks are done, though they've been quiet thus far at the meetings.
